Pre-Sedation Instructions

IV Sedation involves medications given through a vein in either your arm or hand, which will cause relaxation, and very little recall (if any) of the actual surgery.

Important instructions

  1. Do NOT have anything to eat or drink (including water) for six (6) hours prior to surgery. However, it is extremely important to take your regular medications (blood pressure, antibiotics, etc.. UNLESS specified not to.) with just a sip of water only.
  2. You MUST have a responsible adult (18 years or older) stay in the office during your ENTIRE procedure and drive you home. An adult must also stay with you at home for a full 24 hours following the procedure.
  3. Plan to rest for the remainder of the day. It is important that you do not drive, or operate power tools, machinery, etc. For 24 hours following the surgery or while you are taking narcotic medications.
  4. For your surgery we request that you wear a short-sleeved shirt and comfortable walking shoes, as we will need access to both arms, and you will have to walk out of the building after waking up from anesthesia. (NO FLIP FLOPS/SANDALS)
  5. No cellular phones allowed in the surgical rooms.
  6. No nail polish, or acrylic nails.
  7. No jewelry.
